Description

A complete introductory set for professional VHO nail correction.

The VHO Test Set (Without Box) provides foot-care professionals and podologists with a versatile selection of VHO Osthold Perfect Brace components for correcting ingrown, rolled, thickened, and severely curved nails. The VHO system uses the elastic retraction force of a bent steel wire spring to gently lift and reshape the nail edge, delivering effective correction without invasive procedures.

This test set includes seven brace units in multiple thicknesses and loop configurations, allowing practitioners to treat various nail types or evaluate the system’s capabilities before purchasing larger quantities.

Contents of the VHO Test Set (Without Box)

  • 1 piece 0.3 MEZZO

  • 1 piece 0.4 MINI

  • 2 pieces 0.4 MIDI

  • 1 piece 0.4 MAXI

  • 2 pieces 0.5 MIDI

  • 1 piece 0.5 MAXI

This range covers narrow, medium, and wide nails as well as nails requiring different traction strengths.

How the VHO Osthold Perfect Brace Works

The VHO brace consists of three parts:

  • a and b: two preformed side levers that hook onto the left and right nail edges

  • c: a central loop designed for tensioning

When applied, a winder is inserted through both eyes of the central loop. Turning the winder draws the side elements together, creating a controlled lifting force. This tension gradually corrects the nail shape by counteracting its curvature. All sharp ends are sealed with a drop of plastic nail material to ensure comfort and safety.

How to Use the VHO Brace (Step-by-Step)

  1. Prepare the nail
Clean the sulcus, remove callus, and prepare the nail edges. Impressions or plaster models may be used to determine the correct loop size.

  2. Attach the side elements
Hook the preformed right and left wire levers under the respective nail edges. Select the wire thickness (0.3, 0.4, 0.5) based on nail hardness and curvature.

  3. Insert the winder
Thread it vertically through both eyes of the central loop.

  4. Apply tension
Turn the winder clockwise to draw the three parts together, creating the corrective lifting force. Stop once the appropriate tension is reached based on nail curvature.

  5. Shorten and secure
Trim excess wire and seal all exposed ends with plastic nail material.

  6. Follow-up
The brace remains in place until the nail shape improves. Very curved nails may require additional tensioning during follow-up treatment.
